Heather Austin

Heather Austin has over nine years experience in marine science including data management, research, and field work. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Marine Biology, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology cum laude with Departmental Distinction. Currently, Ms. Austin is an ECS Program Manager within NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service’s Office of Science and Technology where she supports the Marine Recreational Information Program. She is responsible for monitoring documentation deliverables, performing statistical analyses using SAS, running routine data queries, and conducting QA/QC protocols on fisheries survey data. In addition, she has experience with managing and reporting on a variety of cost and fixed-price multimillion dollar contracts, budget monitoring, and program management. She has superior written and oral communication skills, is detail-oriented, and well-organized with the ability to multitask and adjust priorities as needed in a fast-paced corporate environment.
