Heather Whyte

I'm a backend software engineer with over 7 years experience in people management and a strong interest in the transformative impact of FinTech. I love finding the simplest possible solutions to problems, and finding ways to bring out the best in the people I work with. I have managed a variety of high pressure delivery timelines, inside and outside of tech, and excel at understanding and explaining how complex systems fit together. My technical experience is centered around Java 11, Spring, micro-services architecture, data, and AWS infrastructure-as-code. I prefer working in an agile environment that supports both continuous integration and continuous deployment, and encourages the engineering team to have a solid connection to the business objectives. I am also passionate about supporting tech environments that are diverse and inclusive to people of all backgrounds and identities. In my spare time, I enjoy coaching and mentoring people from underrepresented groups to learn how to code and break into this industry.
