Technology innovation is my passion and I excel at solving problems that span company strategy, technology and business development. I am a successful technologist with strong operational skills in Management, Start-ups, Strategic Planning and Business Development. I have led interdisciplinary teams developing SaaS solutions combining IoT hardware, Edge Computing, Computer Vision, AI and Cloud. I am founder and managing partner at Insightful Mechanisms (IM). Along with my partners, we help our clients develop new products and businesses based on new technologies. We assist others with business & technology ideation, technology strategy and roadmap, design and building of prototypes, and reference implementations. 𝘉𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵. We firmly believe this, and at IM we often redefine or restate the problem in order to produce novel insights and solutions for our clients. Previously, I was CTO and Director of Business Ideation at Ricoh Innovations Corp. I had the good fortune to lead and work side-by-side with a great team of experts in business, computer vision, UX, industrial design and startup ventures. My team was geographically distributed across California, India and Japan. At Honda Research Institute, my work focused on humanoid robots (ASIMO) and sensor networks. I also lead the system development group. Over the years I have worked with talented teams pushing the envelope in Robotics, Computer Vision, Smart Sensing, Informatics and other areas. I have managed groups, started companies, and advised boards of directors. I have a solid record in IP creation, with over 40 USPTO patents and multiple pending applications.
