About
Educate. Inform. Improve. As a Natural Resources Specialist and influential leader in this field I am passionate about supporting initiatives that improve the overall environmental quality for the State of Texas, and ultimately, the world we live in. Throughout my career I have learned that change and improvement begin with education. I genuinely enjoy educating and informing a diverse regulated community of their responsibility to manage hazardous wastes safely. My expertise is supported by a combination of experience and education that has been cultivating for the past 12 years. Currently, I serve as a lead program coordinator for the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Texas Recycles Computers program areas within the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's (TCEQ) External Relations Division. Before this role I contributed to the Pollution Prevention Program, where I consulted regulated entities throughout Texas to achieve and maintain compliance under the EPA’s Waste Reduction Policy Act (WRPA). My competencies to promote and educate on topics of source reduction, waste minimization, and recycling have been demonstrated through my work on sustainability and recycling initiatives throughout Texas. Through scientific research and analysis, my leadership has produced long-term, innovative, and sustainable solutions for all stakeholders in Texas. By applying fundamental principles of environmental sciences, I have been able to successfully lead source reduction, waste minimization, and recycling initiatives in support of all stakeholders through workshops and publications on various platforms. I carry-out consultative compliance support, conduct investigations, and monitor activities that produce hazardous substances to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations. I am committed to the organizations which I represent and offer hands-on leadership capabilities along with a record of excellence in public speaking, stakeholder communications, and community outreach while fostering partnerships and alliances.
