I believe my clients deserve to be heard, empowered, and should have the opportunity to heal. I founded Nova Counseling to fulfill this belief, and I have made it my life's work. Nova Counseling guides clients to a deeper understanding of themselves and their world, creating foundational change though processing traumas or troubles. Nova counseling believes in giving people permission to grieve what has been lost while illuminating a path to healing, recovering and thriving. A life-long athlete, I pair my education with my belief in health and body-awareness. Incorporating my passions and expertise in my practice with individuals, couples and groups, I utilize a body centered approach to healing, recovery and optimum living tailored to each clients' needs. Through experiences with diverse populations, the common thread is often trauma: I have walked alongside adults and children in the midst of difficult, often tragic times and helped them minimize the effect of trauma on their lives. One of my specializations is in betrayal trauma; I have worked with many partners of sex & pornography addicts and those with trauma from affairs. My work with partners of addicts translates across the spectrum of addiction: chemical and process addictions including sex, drugs, and alcohol. Additionally, I work with depression, anxiety, and addiction with clients from youth to later adulthood. Previously, I was a social worker in the areas of foster care, adoption, child abuse & neglect, hospice care, sex trafficking and children with autism. Website: novacounseling.com
