Heidi Knapp

As a child, I would circle every typo I found in a book. These mistakes drove me crazy. As an editor, it is my goal to help produce books that seven-year-old Heidi would have left unmarked. Words are powerful. They create, destroy, provoke, aid, and explore. In a time when the world around us is filled with chaos, it is important to have safe havens. These can be found in prose. As a student, I continue to learn about the process of editing and aspects of grammar. I am excited to soak it all up. I love to learn, whether it be from professors, bosses, or coworkers. I am highly motivated and driven. I enjoy working with others, but am also organized and happy working alone if needed. I work hard and I do it well. I have a reputation for cheerfully working hard and taking constructive criticism with a smile. It is my goal to work with an editing and publishing company that fosters creativity, open communication, and good relationships with clients through a good and trusted reputation. When I am not reading or editing, I love to spend my time playing with my dogs, my cats, and my nieces and nephews. I breed Norweigan Elkhounds as a hobby, as they are an endangered dog species. I aim to create a better world in all that I do, whether it be work or play. I believe that the only way the world will improve is if we actively work to make others smile.
