I have worked in care since 1993. To be honest I really needed to get back to work after my son was born I went to work on nights in a care home and absolutely loved it. Care is such a rewarding job and you can make such a difference to someone’s life. My role has changed over the years. I started as a carer the trained as a moving and handling trainer then I was made up to senior carer. I also went on to train as an adult mental health first aider. Mental health is one of my passion’s and I will bang on about it any chance I get. And hopefully chip away the stigma sadly still surrounds mental health. I now have a new role as a clinical training coordinator a role that I have grown to love as I enjoy training staff and also updating my knowledge.
