I am fascinated by the opportunities that continue to appear around Place and Time and the analytical problems that fall out of this in all organizations, at all levels. Through working on varied Geospatial problems in both military and government settings, I have gained experience ranging from Disaster Response and Traditional Mapping, to Identifying Security Breaches from Geotags in Social Media and employing IoT sensors for tracking. I employ experience, strategy, technology and a sense of realism to solve organization's problems. As such I work to keep abreast of industry developments, look far afield at the way problems are solved and, perhaps surprisingly given my role, am a huge advocate of Open Source solutions, I see they have an important place in among the range or proprietary solutions, such that a competitive environment is maintained, and technologies move forwards at pace. Municipal and Provincial governments have always faced a constantly evolving set of challenges and now COVID-19 has broadsided processes and disrupted priorities; they now look to do more with less, such that they can support their population while maintaining sustainable finances and delivering core services. Additionally, many are wondering what their population will need, when a new normal comes to be, in either a post-COVID world or a ongoing-COVID world. Whatever direction Governments take, I am driven to help customers achieving their goals with GIS. I work with Local and Provincial Government to help them realize the potential of their investment in ArcGIS and other Esri Canada technologies including in their interconnection with open source solutions and other vendor products.
