I've had the opportunity as a lead Editor to work with National PBS, commercial television, long-form Independent documentaries and web-based projects. I'm grateful to have been challenged by Producers with insightful stories, revealed through compelling interviews and raw footage. Clients trust my skill sets to "mine" elements, piece together building blocks of decisions to make a complex story entertaining and easy to follow. Analyzing, watching, logging at time hundreds of hours of source material - recognizing the story that rides beneath the surface, having the insight/experience to shape that discovery to reflect a unique point of view is my strength. Editing is labor intensive and mentally exhausting, but to this day I truly welcome the challenge and more importantly - the result. It's my philosophy that editing is not just a highly skilled craft but an art form purposed to paint compelling content and stories that inspire, educate, motivate and influence one's life as art should - to take action. At my facility, First Generation Audio Post, I've sponsored Independent Filmmakers, brought in students and newbies to mentor their creative and professional growth. In today's work environment one is surrounded by peers with equal skills, life experiences professionally and culturally. Homogenization is comfortable, safe and productive for some, however as a manager my mission statement is that diversity provides balance. I'm grateful for the recognition: earning many awards during my career as an Editor. I remain motivated to move forward, continue to be a lifelong learner and aggressively pursue goals slightly out of my reach and all things that interest my Weimaraner!
