My professional activity unfolds following two complementary axes: - data analysis, - modeling (data, and also business, software and enterprise architecture modeling). I’ve acquired a very concrete experience of all phases of the data lifecycle, starting from its business semantics, to its sourcing, qualification, modeling, integration, visualization, as well as of the methodologies developed in the contexts of the use of predictive analytics and “data science”. I'm also expert at aligning business and software solutions (making concepts and requirements explicit, interpreting and best fit). The natural career path is for me: - go beyond traditional BI, work with predictive analysis, data mining and machine learning technologies as well as analysis of unstructured content (under the general umbrella of Data Science) - go beyond UML and open up to other ontologies (starting with OWL-based ontologies) I train myself actively in those domains. I had been for very long in charge of a competency center within IBM Global Business Services for applying BI technologies to HR (HR Analytics): defining functional and technical architectures, setting up BI projects, developing competencies, technology and commercial watch, requests for proposals. I began my career developing software (a simulation tool for Human Resources), which enabled me to acquire the foundations of IT. In addition, I am involved in teaching and research activities in the domain of text analysis, especially topic modeling, as a tool for sociology (see at https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/view/index/docid/3064932). Finally, I am passionate about both theoretical and practical linguistics. - theoretical: cognitive linguistics, typology - practical: study of several languages including sinitic languages (see at https://github.com/Herve-Guerin/sinitic-languages-misc-) and Uzbek (see at https://github.com/Herve-Guerin/uzbek-glossary).
