Hessel Honkoop

I am a social, enthusiastic, analytical and broadly interested biomedical scientist who thrives in a collaborative environment. I am passionate about setting-up, facilitating and communicating new and existing research. During my PhD in the lab of Jeroen Bakkers (Hubrecht Institute) where I studied heart muscle cell proliferation in the zebrafish heart during regeneration using single cell imaging and sequencing techniques. In this period, I learned to organise my own research and work efficiently independently as in a team. Afterwards, I realised that my true passion lies in setting-up, facilitating and communicating new and existing research. Knowing this, I started as a Communications employee at the Hubrecht Institute. Here, I am responsible for all external and internal communication.
