My academic studies have enabled me to approach genealogy from the unique perspective of historical geography understanding patterns through time, and how people have interacted with their environment, influencing the cultural landscape.Graduate of University College Dublin with a B.A. in History and Geography and a Diploma in Family History and Genealogy (1st Class Hons); Certificate in Genetic Genealogy (DNA) Research; Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Staffordshire University (UK); Member of Accredited Genealogists Ireland (accrediting and representative body for professional genealogists in Ireland). Author of Maids of the Mountain Hockey Club 1918-1999; Speaker on Irish genealogy including venues such as National Library of Ireland & Dublin City Library and Archives; Panelist on Claire Byrne Live; Interviewed for Virgin Media & RTE TV and Radio & provincial radio stations; Been part of the Genealogy Advisory teams at both the National Library of Ireland & National Archives. Director & Research Services Manager at Ancestor Network, Ireland's leading probate and genealogy research company; leading and managing a team of over 20 professional genealogists completing over 1,500 probate and general research projects and growing.As founder and owner of Irish Ancestry, I undertake family research providing a service to individuals & families; solicitors & businesses; as well as TV production companies (incl. RTE’s The Genealogy Roadshow). This business has been built up through word-of-mouth referrals and has clients worldwide.
