Hiroyuki Yoshihara

Born in 1949 at Sasebo city, Nagasaki, Japan.In 1973, I acquired a title of a bachelor of engineering (chemistry) at Osaka University.I also acquired MD and PhD at Miyazaki Medical University in 1980 and 1984 respectively. After I worked as an surgeon for ten years, I was with Graduate School of Medicine of Miyazaki medical University as an professor from 1995 to 2000 (Medical Informatics). I was also with Harvard University and MIT as an visiting associate professor in 1998.From 2000 to 2003, I was with Graduate School of Medicine of Kumamoto University as a professor (the director of Division of Medical Information Technology of Kumamoto University Hospital). From 2003 to 2013, I was with Graduate School of Medicine of Kyoto University as a professor (the director of the Division of Medical Information Technology and Administration Planning of Kyoto University Hospital). I had also been a member of executive board of Kyoto University Hospital. On March 2013, I had retired from my position as Professor of Kyoto University (Emeritus Professor of Kyoto University). Since April 2013, my position had been Producer/Director of the EHR Research Unit, Department of Social Informatics, Graduate School of Informatics, Kyoto University, Japan. Since April 2014 to March 2016, my position had been the Director of University Hospital of Miyazaki, Japan. Since April 2016, my position is Emeritus Professor of University of Miyazaki and also Distinguished Professor of University Hospital of Miyazaki. I am also the Director of EHR Research Unit of post graduate school of medicine, Kyoto University.My current research interest is concentrating at Electronic Health Record, Personal Health Record and secondary use of Clinical Data.
