I always get the question, "Why those two? Why Chemistry and Comm Arts?" I've learned to love this question and the conversation it brings up because the intersection of these two fields is my passion. First and foremost, I am a chemist at heart who has a passion to communicate the beautiful workings of the field to anyone who is interested. Throughout my education, I have found myself taking classes between the two subjects with little to no crossover, and it is a thrill each and every time I can teach a scientist about argumentation theory, or if I can give a practical example of error propagation to a budding author. Far too often, the education that we receive is stuck on its own little pedestal with no contextualization to the rest of the world, and that is my greatest strength. I am proud of my ability to be that bridge between professions, to enable the marketer to interface with the DevOps team, to be the glue in a workplace that lets all these disparate parts function as a contiguous whole. I hope to be able to gather as much experience in a wide variety of jobs as I possibly can, to carry that same passion into any field, and to always learn more. It is my hope that I will always strive to both better myself and the workplace around me, and to never squander an opportunity to learn.
