About
30th July 2022 is the first day of my "retirement" (see below). I have retired from the role of Coordinating Chaplain of the Public Hospitals of the Illawarra / Shoalhaven - 11.5 years with Anglicare. This role had me coordinating a team of up to 65 volunteer chaplains across 8 hospitals, including pastorally caring for patients, family, staff, and volunteers. For 15 years prior to that I was the Senior Minister sequentially in two Parish Churches in the Illawarra / Shoalhaven area of NSW Australia. My initial training was in Electrical Engineering & Computing Science, then working in Industrial Automation for 9 years. I continue my computing to enhance my work and leisure activities, providing solutions for not-for-profits. Most of my software development is with the Claris FileMaker platform. What's next? I hope to establish a practice of Professional Supervision for people in the Pastoral Care field (Chaplains, Pastors, Clergy, Pastoral Carers, ...). I have a Graduate Certificate in Profession Supervision (Pastoral) and significant experience in various realms of Pastoral Care. Over the past 5 years I have formally supervised a small number of clients. I also intend to maintain and develop my work in software development, mainly for not-for-profit clients. Recently I have launched the Chaplain Deployment Support System (CDSS) for the NSW Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN) - allowing DRCN to respond to requests for Chaplains to be deployed into Evacuation Centres (and the like). This has incorporated a multi-platform app for the individual chaplains to interact directly with the CDSS. What other roles & activities? It is good that God know the answer to that question.
