I started teaching 10 years ago. I got my first job at a small school thanks to my older sister (who was a French teacher ). I was really excited, I always loved and admired teaching. Since then, I've worked at many Language schools. Some of them are known nationwide, other not so much. As I was teaching English and learning about being a teacher, I started to notice a few things, like the fact that regular schools didn’t teach students to communicate, but rather to have them memorize nomenclatures and “formulas” and this approach led to generations of Portuguese speakers traumatized with the English language. The learning process has to be organic, flowed, and light. For those reasons, we’ve adopted a more humanized approach to teaching, where we try and make students feel confident in the process of speaking, simply by encouraging them to speak, even if they’re making mistakes. We listen to them, encourage them, and then point out things that have to be improved. “Treat others as you’d like to be treated” that's what we do here at Make it Simple School
