Ilze Tralmaka

I provide expert legal advice on human rights and constitutional law to the state legislator, working mostly with Human Rights and Foreign Affairs Committees. I also currently manage the Parliament’s litigation before the Constitutional Court, overseeing the research and drafting of legal submissions and representing the Parliament in public proceedings before the Court. I advise the Baltic Human Rights Society in planning and assist in implementation of its human rights education strategy. I also give guest lectures and supervise student’s research on human rights in Riga Graduate School of Law. I joined the Parliament form the Latvian Ombudsman’s Office, an “A” level National Human Rights Institution, where I worked on civil and political rights specializing in the right to a fair trial and right to liberty and security.
