I matriculated from Durban High School in 1997 and my results were rewarded with a 3 year unconditional scholarship to study at tertiary level, from which I graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). In 2003 I did a Post Graduate Honours in Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Finance, Taxation and Auditing. In 2008, at the age of 28 I founded an Auditing practice, Lockhat Incorporated and within two years acquired another accounting firm called Coastal Accounting where I am currently the Director and Managing Partner of both firms. The company employs 80 staff with offices in Durban, Port Sheptone and Pretoria. In October 2014 Lockhat Incorporated was profiled by the SAICA (South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) in their publication as one of the featured firms in South Africa. The firm has also been profiled in 2019, again by SAICA. In 2021 we were scheduled to be interviewed on the national television show called “The Big Small Business Show”. My passion for finance and technology distinguishes me in the profession as I am skilled in conventional internal and external assurance as well as IT assurance.
