Hello there! I am a Retail professional who has recently switched from the customer end to the product end. I started out with an undergrad in engineering but it soon became clear that I had a penchant for wowing my audiences when I started participating in different competitions during my university days. My fondest memory is of winning a writing competition that had participants from over 12 universities many of whom were students of liberal arts and social sciences. It soon became clear that my calling was somewhere else and what better place is there to exercise my judgement on creative matters based on empirical data to which I had become accustomed to since my engineering days and had been reinforced in my MBA education than the retail sector. During my operations tenure, I got exposed to the markets of South and Central Punjab. Towards the end of my operations assignment, I looked after the operations of over 50 retail outlets and was responsible for the training and motivation of a team of 100+ individuals which included both store managers and their store sales staff for the achievement of a multi-billion sales target. A landmark project which was completed during my tenure, with the help of the IT department, was the deployment of a new point-of-sale (POS) system which was piloted in my area where not only were we successful in the physical deployment of the system but also trained a key team of trainers, composed of store managers, who then helped in rolling out of the new system across the Central Punjab region. The multi-year experience at the customer end has exposed me to the likes, desires, and preferences of the customers which is now guiding me in developing a new range of products for the Men's Dress segment.
