I am an experienced Crew Development Manager/Owner’s representative, with a proven track record of harnessing a superior knowledge of marine operations and multi-level stakeholder engagement skills to manage and develop high performing vessel crew. In my current role, I am responsible for operational management of a manning agency representing 2000 seafarers on 70 vessels, providing robust operational leadership to improve the quality and consistency of seafarer performance, and ensuring effective use of available resources through strategic financial planning, process improvements and cost rationalisation. Throughout my tenure, I have increased the pool of seafarers from 1000 to 2000 and increased the number of vessels from 35 to 70, achieving a significant increase in operating profit. I combine a critical, problem-solving mindset with meticulous attention to detail, maintaining a strong focus on quality and productivity to increase efficiency and improve performance. I have participated in multiple inspections and audits, all successfully completed with no major non-conformances. I go above and beyond to ensure the resolution of ‘mission impossible’ manning issues, for example, delivering crew for multiple vessels to aggressive timescales, averting significant costs by enabling vessels to remain on-hire. I am a maritime security specialist, and in a previous consultancy role, I successfully established and managed a Maritime Security Services office in the Gulf of Guinea.
