Irene Dolan

I am from Ireland and I have a level 8 degree in Social Care and am currently studying for the iPGCE from Derby university. I am a kindergarten teacher in Beijing. I am currently working as a homeroom teacher in the Kindergarten class in an IB school. I create a fun and safe space for the children to inquire their own knowledge and we create activities for them to express themselves. I teach them English, take care of them, talk with parents, organize events, etc. I completed four years in a kindergarten previous to the IB school. I taught the children from their first day to their last day in kindergarten. I also worked for a year in a training center. I taught kids aged from three to thirteen years of age.. I enjoy watching the children learn and not relying on speaking Chinese as much as they needed to at the begining of their time in the kindergarten. Teaching young children is definitely the path I would like to stay on. I enjoy playing football, traveling, cooking, meeting new people and trying new things. I spent one month in Ghana volunteering. I worked in a school Monday to Friday teaching girls English. I also worked in an orphanage. I feel these experiences have helped me grow and develop as a person.
