Iris Vural Gursel

I am an experienced researcher with PhD cum laude in Chemical Engineering. I have work experience as a process engineer in a refining company, PhD with theoretical as well as experimental research on process intensification and postdoc on system assessment. My research is aimed at bridging gap between academia and industry, providing insight at different production scales what chemical plant of tomorrow and the future can look like. In this respect I worked on wide range of topics. This involves design, development, optimization and scale-up of unit operations. Moreover, holistic analysis with process modelling, energy analysis, economic and environmental assessment over the whole process. My current research concerns assessment of new conversion technologies for sustainable and cost efficient production from biomass.
