My career has focused on Intellectual Property within the legal profession both in-house and at law firms. My experience started with five years as a legal secretary to litigation, patent, trademark and IP attorneys. I spent ten years as an IP paralegal at Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness much of it assisting a senior partner with a very busy international trademark practice. I was an in-house IP paralegal with Corbis before they dissolved in 2016. I began there with a focus on Patents, Trademarks and Copyrights, and ended with responsibility for many more areas including Corporate Maintenance, Contracts and NDA's. I learned so much while I was there about the in-house experience and priorities of a client. My current role is as a trademark paralegal with Miller Nash Graham & Dunn. I work with a variety of clients assisting with all trademark needs, including searching, prosecution and maintenance. In 2010 I earned a Certificate from the University of Washington Extension Program in Project Management. Although I'm not officially a Project Manager, the course work reinforced skills that I use in all my work as a paralegal; skills such as effective communication, time management, organization, etc. Some of my Skills: Tact and good judgement. High level of writing and communication ability. High level organization and attention to detail. High level of experience with all Trademark Matters Specialties: Very proficient in MS Office tools, Word, Excel, Outlook, Project Manager; Adobe Photoshop, Powerpoint, Sharepoint. High Level of Proficiency with USPTO and WIPO TM online filing systems and research. Experience working with Patent prosecution and maintenance. Experience with Corporate Maintenance including filings of resolutions, maintenance of corporations worldwide, preparing for Board Meetings, searching online databases for corporate information. Proficient in online search tools including SAEGIS, SERION, compumark, trademark.com.
