Engineering and maintenance of automation systems in Solvay-Sodi and Thermo-Electric Power plant Deven. Solvay-Sodi is the biggest European plant for soda-ash production. The capacity is 1 500 000 tones per year. Solway also owns neighbouring plants: the Termo-Electric Power Plant Deven, the plant for salt production Provadsol, and 50% of Devnya Limestone quarry. The automation control in Solvay Sodi is based on Honeywell Experion PKS with redundancy C200, C300 controllers and the old generation TPS with AM, PM and HPM controllers. Both type systems are integrated. There are also used a number of PLCs for stand-alone applications, local control, boilers and turbines protection: Honeywell (HC900), Siemens PLCs (S300 and S400 series), Mitsubishi. The total number of I/Os are 27200 in Solvay Sodi and 11500 in Deven Power Plant. DCS has connections with: - Motor Control Centers (MCC) via Profibus or I/Os: - Siprotec, Simocodes, Motor starters, Soft starters (Siemens); - Frequency converters (Danfoss, ABB); - Field instruments – analog and discreet measurements (Emerson, Rosemount, ABB, Yokogava, Siemens, Vega, Miltronics etc.), pneumatic and electrical control valves. All of them support HART protocol. - Remote I/Os: ET200S, Stand-alone controllers (Honeywell, Siemens, Mitsubishi). The scope of my responsibilities is: - Hardware and software engineering and maintanence of DCS and PLCs; - Control logic implementation (Experion and TPS); - Design HMI and GUS operator displays; - Configure and assembly new DCS; - Automation project management; - Participation in projects for modernization and new installations. - Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT); - Field instruments (HART devices) test and configuration; - Profibus DP configuration; - Administration of Information system AspenTech InfoPlus 21.
