Ivy Taylor

Graduated from University of Missouri 2005. Bachelors in Hospitality management. While in school I worked at Stoney Creek Inn Hotel as a Front Desk Assistant. I then changed to culinary and worked as a line cook for Romanos Macaroni Grill. I was promoted upon graduation to Kitchen Manager. There I performed all ordering, pars, inventory, analysis of P&L statements, cash deposits, hiring, training, cross training and many HR functions. I then moved to CO to work as a Service Manager and Assistant KM for Old Chicago. In this role I performed all previous roles and to include liquor orders. I was recruited quickly though by an up and coming from scratch restaurant in the Midwest Granite City Food and Brewery. I was the Assistant KM from 2007-2010. Same essential duties and functions however with a much higher gross revenue weekly. However, with upwards of $65k in student loans I made a bold decision to join the United States Army from 2010-2103 Active Duty. There I was a Food Specialist (92G cook). I deployed to Iraq and spent 2.5 more years in the Guard. After my transition from a military life back to civilian I decided to go back into the restaurant world. I worked at Cheddars From Scratch Kitchen as Assistant KM and then Chipotle as Apprentice. Similar duties and functions at these establishments. However, I decided I needed a change from the long culinary 70+ hour weeks and got my Teaching Certification in TX. I then spent 2015-2021 in the educational school system performing many different roles. After that my wife deployed and I took on a PT Bartender position so I could be free to visit family while she was away. My wife is Active Duty and we just moved to Colo Springs. We will be residing here anywhere from 3-5 years. I’ve missed the culinary world so much. I have spent many years cooking elegant dishes for my wife, friends and family just at home. I would like to embark on a new chapter learning the in depth culinary techniques, recipes, regional food, worldly food bakery and mastering a much higher degree of experience than where I am now! I’m seasoned, loyal, reliable, fun, talented and ready for this next chapter! Give me a chance. I won’t disappoint.
