I am always striving to develop myself through career development programmes, qualifications, seeking new challenges, responsibilities and roles. I am currently developing my subject knowledge with the Graduate Diploma in Economics at the LSE. At Knights Academy we achieved school’s best value added results at both KS4 and Post 16, becoming the most popular option subject. In September 2010 A-Level Economics was introduced and our 1st results were better than our prestigious sister school, Hatcham College. I inherited good A-Level Economics results at Harris Academy, however, I believed these could be improved by analysing student performance and setting individual targets and strategies. The following year our results were even more successful, the class average exceeded target grades by more than a whole grade, the best set of results of any academic subject in a very high achieving school. Two Economics students successful gained places at LSE to read Economics and Economic History. GCSE Business Studies grades also improved with 30% attaining A-A* even though no student was predicted an A grade based on school targets. These figures were the highest % of A’s the department had ever achieved. At Koc school I achieved the departments best results in a generation, the only subjects in the school to gain higher IB results were the two Turkish language subjects. Coordinated the Amnesty International society and created one of the only politics societies in a Turkish school. Former students are now reading Business and Economics at Ivy leagues colleges, such as Wharton Business school and social sciences at leading UK universities like Oxford, Durham and King’s College. At Harris Academy I set up a Debating Society and in just one year we managed to get through to the Cambridge Union regional final. I also have considerable experience developing enterprise projects, one event was so successful students generated over £5000 profit for charity in a single day.
