Jaimie Ryan

I am currently an active serving member in the British Army with close to 13 years service. 9 of which as a light role infantry soldier and 4 as a Welder/Fabricator. With a total of 6 years welding and fabrication experience, I’m now due to leave the British Army and look forward to a new career path within the welding inspection sector. Currently, I operate as a solo Metalsmith within my unit. Diagnosis, modifications and general welding and fabrication is my speciality. As a solo metalsmith, adaptability and quick decision making is key within my role to enable a fast and efficient turn around. From ferrous to non ferrous material, vehicle platform repairs to blacksmith repair my role covers it all. Due to a mixed background within the British Army I have been exposed to multiple situations both on home soil through to the Middle East and Africa. Through this time, I have gained a number of key skills such as: Team leader, Security management, Risk assessment, Operations management, High level decision making, Adaptability, Communication. As a welding and fabricator I now aim to move in to the welding inspection role which I believe will be a smooth transition in to a successful career. With my background and mindset I believe I would be a great addition and asset to any company I become employed by.
