Jake Akstins, ACAS

Jake Akstins, ACAS (he/him) is currently an Actuary at Nationwide. At his prior company, he performed actuarial pricing for Healthcare/MedMal. This involved profitability reviews, large account pricing, and portfolio monitoring. In his first rotation, Jake performed reserve reviews on CNA's Commercial Auto (US & Canada), Architects & Engineers E&O (US), General Liability (US & Canada), and Workers' Compensation (US) lines of business and was an active member of the Subject Matter Expert team for the company's reserving software. He also led a project to restructure Ceded Reinsurance reserve review segmentation.Akstins is a social justice educator, a passion he practiced formally through his three-year tenure as Nugent Hall's Multicultural Advocate. He is an ally, advocate, and organizer for inclusion and social equity and continues to serve in this capacity in the actuarial profession. Jake co-founded and is currently serving as President of the Sexuality and Gender Actuarial Alliance of Actuaries (SAGAA).
