Jakub Polanowski

I'm a scientist with a drive to find the hidden patterns and meanings behind data. I always enjoy discovering new problems and finding novel and effective solutions to them. At heart I am a chemist and I'm passionate about using my knowledge within the medical industry solve meaningful problems. As part of that goal I strive to leverage my experience within the field of computer science to help me find more efficient and dynamic solutions that would otherwise be out of reach without computational resources. In my time at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Rachid Skouta as part of his lung cancer research group. The goal of the groups research was to develop a drug compound to be used as part of the treatment. My role in the research was within the field of computational modeling, in which I was able to provided additional insights for the group by creating a series of models that helped us better understand the ligand features that lead to increased potency.
