I am an experienced scientist and manager and have enjoyed career progression in scientific roles. I recently undertook to follow my life-long interest in medicines and in I am now a registered Pharmacist. I practice in a busy private hospital across clinical, manufacturing and dispensing roles. Prior to this I was managing the Scientific and Technical Services team at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, Perth. In this role, I led a team of experienced scientists to support core laboratory and manufacturing functions of the blood service. The role provided the opportunity to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills in a challenging and strictly regulated scientific field. Colleagues know me as a highly organised person who is comfortable taking on the most difficult problems to achieve successful outcomes. I take a collaborative approach to my work and enjoy building long term relationships with clients and stakeholders. I am well known in my field and participate in numerous working groups and specialist meetings at the local and national level. I am passionate about learning and hold tertiary degrees in Human Biology, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Science. I have contemporary vocational training in areas including process improvement techniques, project management, leadership and management. I also have experience in the provision of training to scientific and non-scientific staff.
