Jana Kleitsch

Jana Kleitsch was first hit with the entrepreneurial bug in 1995 while planning her wedding. She had the visionary idea to “plan your wedding on the Internet." What sounds like a “duh” idea now, was of questionable sanity in the days of old school modems and AOL. She had another great idea at the same time – found this company with her soon-to-be-husband. Twenty three years later, it turns out both ideas were great ones. Their startup eventually was acquired by an idealab! company and WeddingChannel was birthed. Teaming up with lawyers though? Not the ideal marriage, and she and her husband returned to Seattle and parted ways with that group of co-founders. After startup-world crazy town, Jana spent nearly a decade on Amazon’s Personalized and Automated Merchandising and Zeitgeist teams as a user experience designer. After Amazon, she consulted for IMDb, and the Bill &a; Melinda Gates Foundation. She has also served as a Board Member and Vice President of AIGA Seattle. Currently Jana is co-Founder and CEO of Wanderlust Society, a startup in the consumer travel space helping travelers take great trips. This time Jana co-founded her company with her friend and former Amazonian boss, Andrej Gregov, and another Amazon veteran Jeff Topham. So far they are still friends. Jana went from “leaning out” to Boss Lady. When not working Jana enjoys time at the beach, road tripping, traveling and boating with her husband and two kids. She is an avid photographer. Jana is also on a personal mission to encourage everyone to make the most of their time on earth by adding Wanderlust into their every day lives with #wanderlustwednesdays.
