Jane Spies

As a history major at George Mason University, I have developed a deep understanding of the past in addition to how major political and cultural events have shaped our current world. Within the history department, I have been recently selected for a research assistant position and awarded the Osher Lifetime Learning award for my attention to detail, originality in writing, and research efforts. I have focused the majority of my intensive college writing work across a wide variety of disciplines on the past and current political, geographical, and cultural developments within Russia and the former Soviet Union. I a high level of enthusiasm for problem solving, a great depth of experience utilizing primary sources, and the ability to excel and operate under pressure.
