Jason P. Sanchez

Mr. Sanchez’s 26 year career in the energy industry has been focused on energy trading, upstream business development, and acquisitions & divestitures of business around power, natural gas, and oil. He started his career as an Hourly Trader / Generation Controller for Detroit Edison (now DTE Energy). He worked as a Power Trader at Cargill and subsequently went on to manage the Midwest Power Desk at DTE Energy & Trading. At BNP Paribas (formally Fortis, Duke Energy Trading, Cinergy), he served a dual role as the Midwest Term Power Trader as well as the Director of Power and Gas Fundamentals. Prior to joining Westar Energy, he served as the Director of Business Development at NextEra Energy Resources leading development efforts on the acquisition and/or divestiture of oil and gas upstream assets. In addition to his extensive energy background, Mr. Sanchez is a serial entrepreneur; he currently is the Owner of Jet Stream Guttering & Lighting. He was an Owner/Franchisee of two TITLE Boxing Club locations located in the Houston area. TITLE Boxing Club was ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine as the “#36 Fastest Growing Franchise” businesses. In 2013, he received the Rookie Franchisee of the Year Award. Mr. Sanchez holds a B.S. degree from Eastern Michigan University.
