Jason Sager

My mission is to accelerate cancer cures by revolutionize society’s approach to cancer. My talent is to create and implement insights that benefit others. I am a physician-scientist with 12 years of clinical experience as a pediatric oncologist and 9 years of translational drug development experience. I trained at Johns Hopkins and the National Cancer Institute (shared fellowship program) where I conducted research with Bert Vogelstein, who has remained my mentor. After moving to Boston, I continued a clinical practice at Dana Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic. My early drug development skills were gained from working at Genentech (2 years), Novartis (3 years), and Sanofi (4 years), the last of which is where I was head of the US Early Clinical Development Oncology group. Through this experience, I have filed multiple INDs, and have designed and run trials ranging from first-in-human to pivotal phase IIs, including biomarker strategy formation and implementation, and all operational components of clinical research programs. It was this traditional training combined with a strong passion to help patients that led me to launch a company in 2014 called Sagely Health. Sagely’s advocate medical doctors help cancer patients in their search for innovative therapies, communication with their health care team, and decision-making in their journey. In turn, their experience helps us to create better therapies with the goal to one-day help millions of patients. In addition, I continue to set aside time to help those who stand to greatly benefit from my experience, including: cancer foundations, biotech companies (e.g. Privo, Bionaut Labs, Kyn/Arrys Therapeutics), aspiring individuals (e.g. MIT Deshpande catalyst), and cancer centers who wish to accelerate development of cancer therapies.
