Javier Leon

Javier is the founder, chairman and CEO of Alianza Capitales. He was born in Costa Rica in 1965, is married, passionate about reading and the proud father of three millennials. In 1983, was admitted in the University of Costa Rica to study law and international trade, graduating in both careers, then obtaining and MBA at INCAE Business School, from which he graduated with high distinction. Javier began his professional career in 1998 at the Free Zones Authority of Costa Rica, where he served as legal counsel and then as deputy manager. He then move to the private sector and for more than 20 years he focused on advising in mergers and acquisitions, carrying out more than one hundred transactions of this type, several of them with regional scope, and in attending companies of the pharmaceutical industry, to which has been linked since the 90s. During that period, he also founded Intermanagement, a trust company, that today has more than US$1billion dollars in assets under administration. Determined to create his own company and convinced that the market required not only investment managers but business operators, he founded Alianza Capitales with the intention to be the holding company of a group of "hands on" investors. Since Alianza´s foundation, Javier spends most of his time leading his business projects, taking care of the planning, execution and strategic compliance of the companies and the development of commercial relationships with suppliers and customers. He is also member of multiple boards of directors in the industries of healthcare, logistics, construction and technology. He is also serving at the board of directors of Hogar Siembra, a not-for-profit dedicated to support girls under social risk.
