About

Https://cyberworldbuilders.com https://www.upwork.com/fl/jaylongcyberworld What difference can I make if I drop the freelance hacker hustle and dedicate my abilities to a single project for an extended period of time? For years, I’ve been a rolling stone–a renegade freelance hacker for hire. Startup founders all know where to find people like me. We’re rockstars. We activate on short notice. We dive straight into the conversation. We know about all the hot tech that the community is buzzing about. Immediately, we start throwing out suggestions. Sometimes an hour of just consulting puts you back on track and you disappear again for a while. Then when the funding comes in, it’s game on. For months we work like maniacs, blowing through Jira cards and cashing checks. Then when you need to take a break to raise more money, we hit pause and go work on something else for a few months. Technology moves on and so do we. But what if I traded all of the time and energy spent on outreach and sales and consulting and immersion and focused it all on engineering for one project? What if I were devoted to one company and one team for years at a time? What if I could think of possibilities in terms of years instead of months or weeks? What if I could log out of all but one Slack channel? What if every morning I woke up and dove straight into the same development environment that I left open the night before? What if the people I depend on were as familiar as a friend? Better yet, what if we actually WERE friends? What if there was never a time when the writing was on the wall that the funding was running low? What if I never had to start tapering off my effort level to focus more on outreach and sales right as innovation was just starting to really ramp up? My story has been without a doubt an amazing adventure. It has been exciting and thrilling and even terrifying at times. And every time I make it through the trial of fire alive, I come back stronger and tougher and with new amazing skills and abilities. Looking back on all of my accomplishments (if I’m being honest), I could have done so much more. I can’t help but acknowledge that if I can do what I’ve done while juggling no less than 3 active projects at a time and handling outreach and sales and operating on development cycles no longer than 6 to 12 months– what then, can I achieve going all-in for a year or more? On the right team, with the right tech and the right problem the world is mine.
