J.c. Sherman

I'm the Principal Tubist with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra and tubist with the Blossom Festival Band since 1998. I'm an Oberlin Conservatory graduate ('94) with Bachelors of Music degrees in Tuba Performance and Music Education. There, I studied tuba and ophicleide with Ronald Bishop and bass trombone and bass sackbut with Raymond Premru. I have the great privilege of performing throughout Northeast Ohio and the world as a chamber musician, soloist, band and orchestral performer on a wide variety of instruments. I also create and modify musical instruments for performers all over the world. I'm even busy in the late evenings as a composer and arranger. I'm also an ardent proponent and performer of historic brass instruments, particularly regarding the contemporary use of the serpent and ophicleide.
