About

Engineer specializing in optimization, generative design, structural analysis and robotics. Currently mechanical designer at Kinova Robotics. Recently completed my PhD at Polytechnique Montreal, supervised by Professors Sofiane Achiche and Aurelian Vadean. The research project is in close collaboration with Stelia Aéronautique and Bombardier in the MuFox (MUltidiscplinary Framework for Optimization of wingboX) project. My thesis combines multiple approaches to develop a computer-assisted wing box structural optimization tool. Automated complexity analysis allows the intelligent generation of innovative and simple aircraft primary structures. We use topology optimization, computer vision and generative design to enhance the intuition of structural designers and analysts. The current goal is to finish my thesis by January 2021. Outside of these research specific expertise, I've developed an expertise in procedural and object-oriented programming, advanced FEM techniques, robotics, control theory, mechanisms and electronics. I'm also a regular TA and teacher at Polytechnique for the control theory and the machine design courses. I hold a B. Ing and a M.ScA. In aerospace and mechanical engineering from Polytechnique Montreal. In the past, I've worked as an air frame design intern at Bell Helicopter on the assembly line of the Bell 412, where I've learned a lot on design and manufacturing processes for the aeronautic industry.
