I started my work life in the Construction industry in 1985 where I quickly learned the accounting practices for the construction industry. Manual book keeping and payroll were such a chore so when the company I worked for decided to invest in IT I was very excited. Within 18-24 months I had helped the IT Company scope the requirements and implement the system. 12 months later I was working for that company as an Applications Consultant implementing accounting systems such as Pegasus and Multisoft. In 1993 doing a similar role I moved companies where I increased my skills by getting involved in Sage, infrastructure and operating systems and by 1995 had become Technical Director responsible for the management of both applications and technical service and support staff. In August 2005 I took up my first role with TSG as Customer Service Director for TSG Scotland again with similar responsibilities. 27 years into my IT career I enjoyed my role as Group Technical Service Director allowing me to concentrate on the technical and telecoms service and support delivery at TSG, unfortunately that role became redundant in May 2015. In November 2015 I began my new role as Service Director at Dacoll Ltd where I responsible for service delivery to both the Public and Private Sector. Supplying infrastructure and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) products, service and support to Police forces across the UK. Working with NHS boards across Scotland providing outsourced service, support and projects. Working closely with some of the major System Integrators providing outsourced infrastructure, engineering and project services. In 2021 an exciting opportunity arose and my journey with Dacoll came to an end in April 2021. I worked with many talented people at Dacoll and learned a lot during my time there, I wish them all the best for the future. Now off to my new adventure of Chief Operating Officer at Kick ICT Group.
