Immediately after graduating with honors from Florida International University (FIU), with a double major in Finance and Economics, I found myself having to make a crucial career altering decision. Having studied the financial markets for 55 months with no interruptions, the goal was to land in the financial capital of the world and begin an exciting career in the stock market. Upon graduation, we were in the midst of a recession. I would turn on CNBC only to find top performing professionals in the industry with years of experience, walking around wall street handing our their resumes to pedestrians walking by, all while wearing their 4 foot tall billboards on their front and back. The decision was simple: go to New York and compete among top notch talent during the worst recession to hit America since the 1930's or start my own business and put people to work. I choose the ladder. East of Collins is born. Fast forward 4 years and you will find East of Collins, Inc, East of Collins Expediting, Inc and East of Collins Realty, Inc comfortably situated in our beautiful commercial office located conveniently at 202 Sunny Isles Blvd #6, Sunny Isles Beach, FL 33160. With graduate school being a clear end goal for me, I have turned my attention to building this wonderful brand and company, which I call East of Collins, into something that is not only recognized internationally, but something that will last throughout the ages. East of Collins will become the epitome of 1st class service, have 200+ employees, and become an added value to all property located East of Collins Avenue in Miami. So I say to all graduate business schools: be on the look out for my application!
