Jeff Johnson

From a very early age, I have longed to better understand the world around me. In time, this matured into a passion for science, technology, and engineering. I also found myself exploring the world of video games, which reinforced the already growing interest in computer technology. I started building, configuring, and repairing my own PCs at the age of 12, working with Windows and Linux. This hobby would allow me to build a deep understanding of the technologies and standards used over the past two decades. Eventually, I created my own IT support business during high school. Through that business, I supported several customers and taught a computer literacy class at the library. I poured my heart and soul into that business, but I realized that working on computers wasn't enough for me. Creation has been in my blood for a very long time. By the end of high school, I knew that I wanted to develop computer hardware and software. To accomplish this, I started working on a degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Through coursework such as Digital Design, Computer Architecture, C++ Programming, and Software Engineering, my understanding has grown even deeper. While I did eventually switch my major to Electrical Engineering Technology to resolve certain logistical issues, my coursework was on the Computer Engineering Technology path, which expanded my knowledge and furthered my passion for digital systems. I would look like to explore a wide variety of career opportunities. Video game development, computer hardware design, and semiconductor chip manufacturing are at the top of my list. Most importantly, I would like to own my business in any of these categories in order to take that industry to the next level if possible. Until then, I am looking for jobs in software engineering, digital design, or embedded systems to gain experience in these fields.
