Jenna Alini

I started working in childcare when I was 14. I would babysit for family friend and I also worked in my churches childcare. Throughout high school I would babysit for teachers and pick up different jobs in church here and there. In college I worked at a preschool and was with younger children. I helped with making sure the classrooms ran smoothly and got daily task done such as lunch, snack, nap time and play time. After college I started working for the YMCA as a childcare site director. I worked in before and after school and occasionally in the preschool. We would do different arts and crafts, stem and world study projects with them. In the future I want to further my career with youth and work with teens in low income neighborhoods showing them different opportunities for their life’s. I’m also first aid and cpr trained. I have my finger print card. I’m also licensed with the state for childcare.While working in retail I worked as a cashier for year and a half. I learned all the ins and outs of being a cashier. I was taught how to handle money, how to use the cash register and how to maintain a steady speed to get the job done but to make sure the customers felt that I was engaging with them too. While working in retail I was also trained in guest services and a little bit of food training too. These two things taught me how to ha doe stressful situation and make sure the job was done right and the outcome was good.
