I started in senior services at 15 years of age. From that time I have gained 20 years experience working with seniors in all realms, and many achievements, some of which I would like to share with you. Starting as a nurse aide I began my climbed up the ladder to become a Marketing Director. Every position in which I have held be it care giver, Resident Assistant, or Med Tech. I have been promoted into a supervisory role within a month. The Residents become my family. I assist each and every one as if it was my Mother, or Father. On scheduled days off I always make myself available not only to Resident's, & their families, but to team members as well. If a Resident was too sick and weak to attend meals I took it upon myself to be there at each meal to assist them in their apartment. If a family member needed assistance on any matters that I could help with, they could call me anytime, as well as the Team Members. Trust, Respect, and Dependability are very important to me and key to a successful community. I feel as a community it is everyone's responsibility to ensure proper care is given not only to the Resident, but their home as well, therefore if a resident needs assistance and a care giver wasn't available, then I would assist the resident, if housekeeping needs attending to then I did what was needed, dietary needs extra help, then I helped with serving drinks, meals clearing tables, setting the dining room up, etc. I have been very proud of these achievements, but I am most proud of the feeling that I have made such a difference in so many lives during their last years. Knowing that I had such a contribution to be able to provide them with the feeling that they had Quality of Life has made me more honored, proud, & grateful to them and their families than any award could.
