20+ years in non-profit and corporate tech sectors and currently the Director of Open Data Policy & Strategy at Microsoft. Prior experience includes Cofounder & President of Chronos Hub and Senior Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. While at the foundation, championed and implemented a groundbreaking policy that requires all of the Foundation’s funded research to be freely available to everyone, everywhere without restriction. Worked collaboratively with global, high-visibility organizations, including the National Institute of Health (NIH), Harvard, MIT, Wellcome Trust and the European Commission to expand funding and drive sustainable, impactful, systemic change. Managed $5M budget that drove the development, policy design, implementation and technology used within the research and non-profit arenas.
