Jessica Balaam-Smith

I am proud to be a first-generation university student coming from an area with very low progression to higher education rates. Being able to build yourself through education, commitment, networking, and reflection to reach your goal is something that deeply motivates me. I am grateful to be involved in the SEO London law programmes to help with this development. Social mobility is something I am greatly passionate about so being a brand ambassador for SEO has allowed me to spread to word and work with peers who also have the same motivation. I have undertaken work experience with Macfarlanes, Goldman Sachs, HFW and work during university as a primary school tutor. I have a particular interest in Litigation, Private Client, Real Estate and Tech. I was elected Career Secretary of the University of Bristol Law Club, a role in which I have organised events including the Annual Careers Dinner attended by 8 city law firms. I am curious, engaged and constantly asking why in order to learn, identify gaps and continue moving forward in my professional development towards becoming a commercial solicitor.
