Jessy Perez

I am a Community Engagement and Social Justice advocate, Registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers. Experienced in providing clinical counselling, promoting, assessing and facilitating community programs to enhance individuals physical and emotional well-being. I am a motivated community member whom never shies away from a challenge. Committed to building lasting relationships and using creativity and collaboration to individualize client processes and experiences to to help realize their full potential. Through my work as a Youth Addiction Counsellor, Housing Stability worker and as a Facilitator Assistant at the Local Community Food Centre, I fostered positive changes using Mindfulness, deescalation and motivational interviewing strategies. Experienced in brief solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy and client-centred approaches that empower clients to make informed decisions. Well versed in supporting clients from a trauma-informed lens, who are struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression, substance or behavioural concerns, self-esteem and mental and emotional health. I am dedicated to learning and growing and have a wholistic view of healing that is creative and flexible. As a Master's of Social Work graduate, I am seeking a position in which I can utilize my skills in delivering client centred therapy, group facilitation, and collaborative interactions to enable community members to access the resources they need.
