I'm an operating system specialist. I focus the performance and performance isolation of system software. Specifically, I work on the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance and low-latency system software for large scale computing infrastructures. My work spans from the operating system designs for the cloud environment, to the operating system architecture for extreme scale supercomputers. I'm also a hardcore engineer who build real stuff, including * Pisces: a multi-stack operating system framework * Busgazer: an iPhone/Android app for realtime bus arrival information for Pittsburgh, serving thousands of local users. * a ball collecting robot, built from scratch. * a four instruction x86 CPU with verilog (add, minus, left shift, right shift) * a compiler that compiles a Java dialect into x86 assembly code
