Jill Mitchell

I started in retail when I was in high school. I was, and still am, in love with all things fashion. It turned out I was really good at it, and I enjoyed it. But I there are many reasons I’ve been in the industry for 20+ years. Here’s what I’ve learned about myself over the course of my career so far...The JOY I find in working with people. It’s what I’m most passionate about. From working with customers, finding the right look for an event, and getting to be an important part of their life for a moment. To hiring and on boarding, training, coaching and developing. This is where I’ve been most successful in my career. I believe that comes from a true curiosity I have to understand people and a deep level of compassion for others. My team knows I am here to be in service to them. Taking the time to get to know what their goals are, what they are passionate about, and placing them in a place that meets there needs and the needs of the business. That intersection is crucial to running a thriving business with high retention and employee engagement. The other metrics just fall into place. The second is my passion for driving results. Again, with the right people in the right place, the results will come inevitably. However, the business acumen piece is also a big passion for me. Using all available resources, and creating a plan. Finding that common thread and unlocking that piece that can change your business. And putting that goal front of mind with every aspect of the business, the results start happening! The momentum builds and it becomes a culture in your building. My years that I’ve spent with Banana Republic speaks to my loyalty and longevity. My promotions within the company speak to my work ethic and the value I add to a business. I’m excited to continue my career life in a new chapter
