Jimmy Hiller built an extraordinarily successful, multi-state business on a simple yet powerful concept, “Care is Our Core Value”. When he founded Hiller in 1990, he crafted a business model that focused on a high level of professional skill, true respect for others, and the integrity to do the job right. In the years that followed, this two-time Southern Golden Gloves champion turned a one-man, one-truck operation into the region’s premier provider of choice for residential and commercial heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical service and repair. Hiller now employs more than 700 associates, boasts a fleet of over 500 “Happy Face” trucks across 14 locations, and has responded to over 1.5 million service calls. Hiller was recently honored with its 12th inclusion on the Inc. 5000 List, making them among the top 1% of businesses. Hiller’s passion for the industry and giving back to future technicians led him to co-found PRAXIS-S10, a national success college for contractors with members across the U.S. This organization utilizes over four decades of innovative, industry-specific expertise to grow partner businesses at an exponential rate. Recognizing the need for qualified, well-trained technicians in an industry with exceptionally high turnover, Hiller acquired Total Tech school. Total Tech offers a unique approach to technician training, pairing classroom learning with hands-on laboratory instruction in a 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. In 2016, Hiller and Total Tech partnered with U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Campbell, to start Transition to Trades, an Approved Career Skills Program (CSP) that prepares transitioning soldiers for full-time civilian careers in the trades while they are still active in the military. Since its inception, this program has graduated over 500 soldiers (with an 92% employment rate) and received both congressional recognition and the HIRE Veterans Medallion Award for serving veterans.
