My time at Magna International has provided me the opportunity to provide environmental support and technical guidance for over 350 operational facilities globally. This opportunity has allowed me to grow my understanding of environmental rules and regulations across North and South America, Europe and Asia. Moving to the manufacturing industry from consulting provided new challenges and more focus on preventing environmental contamination through improved operating procedures and internal environmental principles, rather than a focus on identifying contamination. My current position also has me manage environmental investigations for on-going remediation projects, property transactions (buy, sell, lease) and large scale business acquisitions and divestitures. Magna has also provided the flexibility to improving the environmental program and as a result I have helped develop new programs to better understand and manage environmental risk to the company from both a regulatory and cost perspective. Keystone Environmental gave me the start to my career and provided me direct experience with a wide variety of field sampling techniques for soil, water and air media. I have also had the opportunity to gain experience in wetland hydraulic systems, participating in environmental assessments, and groundwater monitoring well drilling. I am currently certified as an Environmental Professional through the Environmental Careers Organisation (ECO Canada) and am working towards my Professional Geoscientist designation.
